The Cowlitz County Work Opportunity Center’s Young Adults Program is offering a Paid Part-Time to Full-Time Welding & Industrial Painting Internship with a top local industrial employer to give hands-on training and certifications to eligible job seekers.

What does the internship offer?:

– OSHA 10

– Forklift

– Basic Tool Use

– Exposure to Industrial Work Environments

– Hands on Equipment Use

– Assistance with Obtaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Driver’s License, & Financial Management

– Area Job Leads, Resume Writing, Applications, Letter of Recommendation, and Interviewing Assistance

Specifics:

– 10 week Internship; May 21st – July 20th 2018

– Monday – Friday

– 4 hour Day Shift for six weeks

– 8 hour Day shift for final four weeks

– $11.50/hour

Are you between the ages of 18 – 24 years and looking for a foot-in-the-door in the Industrial Industry? Whether you are considering a career in maintenance, mechanics, welding, machining, shop work, warehouse, or other industrial-trades, this program is the PERFECT first step!

 

The Cowlitz County Work Opportunity Center’s Youth Internship Program is offering a Competitive, Paid Part-Time Industrial Internship with a growing, competitive and innovative local industrial employer to give hands-on field training and certifications to eligible job seekers. Our Youth Internship Program strives to develop successful participants – In 2017, 100% of our interns entered into employment!

What does the internship offer? :

  • 10 weeks (Feb. – April 2018) at $11/hr
  • Monday – Friday
  • Part-time, graduates to full-time towards end of internship
  • Forklift and OSHA 10 certifications
  • Basic tool use, hands on equipment use, exposure to industrial work environments

Goodwill is at it again offering another Paid Internship for eager area youth (ages 18 to 24 years). This opportunity is great for individuals wanting to gain experience in customer service, merchandising, inventory and general retail operations.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Financial Literacy
  • Digital Literacy
  • Additional Nationally Recognized Certification
  • Retail Skills Curriculum and Hands on Experience

2017 Career & Networking Fair Overview

2017 Career and Networking Fair 01In partnership, Lower Columbia College, WorkSource of Cowlitz and Wahkiakum, and the Goodwill Work Opportunity Center of Cowlitz County, had a great time offering the 2017 Career & Networking Fair to our community. With over 35 Employer booths, there was a wide range of industry, opportunity and knowledge to take advantage of. In addition, Lower Columbia College coordinated and offered Mock Interviews with area employers. Collectively we would like to thank our participating employers, job seekers and all the community partners who added to the events success. We all played a role in a great event, creating connections and growth for careers in Cowlitz County!
