Goodwill is at it again offering another Paid Internship for eager area youth (ages 18 to 24 years). This opportunity is great for individuals wanting to gain experience in customer service, merchandising, inventory and general retail operations.

Earn while you learn and gain new skills fast!

What does the internship offer?:

  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Financial Literacy
  • Digital Literacy
  • Additional Nationally Recognized Certification
  • Retail Skills Curriculum and Hands on Experience
  • Leadership Development
  • Assistance with Educational Goals (GED, Collegiate or Technical Training)
  • Support obtaining Work Clothes, Driver’s License/Transportation, and other training needs
  • Area Job Leads, Resume Writing, Applications, Letter of Recommendation and Interview Assistance

Specifics:

  • Pathways to Internship
    • October 2nd – October 13th
    • Monday – Friday
    • Unpaid 2 Week Prep/Training
  • Retail Internship
    • October 16th – December 8th
    • Hours will vary depending on Training (Mon – Fri to start)
    • 20 hours per week
    • $11/hour Training Reimbursement

This opportunity is provided through Grant Funding in Association with Workfource SW Washington and applicants must meet specific grant requirements:

  • No experience needed!
  • No education requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age and eligible for our Young Adults Program (we will review this with you upon receipt of application)
  • Able to work in Longview/Kelso, WA area
  • Some background restrictions apply
  • Able to pass full-panel drug screen
  • Lift 30 – 45lbs. without assistance
  • Must be eager for local Retail, Customer Service or Production Employment

2017 Career and Networking Fair 01In partnership, Lower Columbia College, WorkSource of Cowlitz and Wahkiakum, and the Goodwill Work Opportunity Center of Cowlitz County, had a great time offering the 2017 Career & Networking Fair to our community. With over 35 Employer booths, there was a wide range of industry, opportunity and knowledge to take advantage of. In addition, Lower Columbia College coordinated and offered Mock Interviews with area employers. Collectively we would like to thank our participating employers, job seekers and all the community partners who added to the events success. We all played a role in a great event, creating connections and growth for careers in Cowlitz County!

NORPAC has partnered with Goodwill’s Work Opportunity Center of Cowlitz County to offer a Competitive, Paid Internship Program with the potential for employment for the top performers. That’s right, this means JOBS.

The turnaround for this program is FAST, so don’t delay in applying if interested.

Details:

  • Full Time at $13.50/hour with benefits
  • Goodwill screening series to start April 10th
  • Paid Internship Cohort to start May 1st
  • Long-term competitive internship with 30 day, 60 day, 90 day and 6 month Performance Evaluations
  • Interns will start by performing entry-level clean-up, production and operational tasks, while gradually gaining industry-specific skills.
  • Successful completion will position intern for potential employment with NORPAC

Qualifications:

  • Internship is being offered through Goodwill’s Young Adult Program (must be 18 – 24 years of age)
  • No experience needed
  • Must have a great attitude, strong desire to work and enjoy working with a team
  • Eager for local Industrial/Manufacturing/Production Employment
  • Capacity to work a 12 hour, rotating shift schedule
  • Some background restrictions apply
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Able to lift 50 – 75lbs without assistance
  • Prefer ability to obtain/current Driver’s License

Paid Part-Time Office Internship

Eager to gain experience on administrative functions, data processing, project execution, social media, customer service, sales and more?

The Cowlitz County Work Opportunity Center’s Young Adults Program is offering two Paid Part-Time Office Internships. These opportunities offer the PERFECT first career step for a Cowlitz County job seeker who is ready to develop skills that could lead them in almost any professional direction.

Two Internships Offered:

Marketing and Admin Assistant

This intern will get take charge in the marketing/social media campaign for a local non-for-profit. Individual will be encouraged to be creative and have their fun show through social media, flyers and more. Additional administrative tasks will include helping coordinate for events and activities, and organizing supplies.

Clerical Support and Customer Service

This intern will get a backstage pass to the workings of an expanding energy solutions company, from customer service, contracts and paperwork, to site visits. There is a lot to learn and a lot to be done in this role with the potential for hire if the opportunity and candidate are a good fit.

In addition to the experiences listed above, Both Internships Include:

  • First Aide/CPR Training
  • Microsoft Suite Training
  • Over 150 hours of real-world work experience with a local employer
  • Earn while you Learn!
  • Assistance obtaining; Business Casual/Professional Work Attire, Driver’s License and Financial Management
